To determine Conversion Conversion Pros & Cons, it is far more important to know 'How to Choose A Proper Conversion Center'. This is the areas that resulted to alot of Positive or Negative feelings after conversion.
Thus, it is essential that the Carburetor Conversion: Pros and Cons should start off on 'How to Choose A Proper Conversion Center'. The following criteria was globally set by a member of www.ngvcommunity.com website, Harry Kok dated 30 June 2007 or at the web link http://www.ngvcommunity.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=908
In view of the Ideal NGV Workshop, Hijau Centers are incorporating the Harry Kok's Installer Criterias:
The Hijau Shop Layout:

This will tell you how the owner looks after his shop. If he takes lots of effort to make sure the shop is clean and all their tools are kept systematically, then you know that when you leave your vehicle they will look after your car well. Harry Kok

Just observe their workers' attitudes toward you and the vehicles that they are working on. For example: Do they take all the necessary precautions to protect your vehicle from being scratch or dirtied?

See the type of conversion kits they have and the cylinders they provide. Ask the various kind of systems, which system is most suitable for your vehicle. Just listen and see how well they know about NGV.
Hijau's Pricing on Conversion (Carburetor Mixer System):

Conversion Pricing
Normally pricing shall be subjected to three most important parts. The system types, the cylinder size and cylinder type.
If your vehicle is a carburetor type, yuou have only one system to choose from. If your vehicle is an injection (EFI) type, then you have two options to choose, such as the EFI-mixer or EFI-sequential injection system.
As for the cylinders, you need to choose the right size. I for one will recommend the biggest size for as long as your car boot will fit. This is mainly due to the amount of gas that you can travel with.
If your vehicle can take a 70 liters then choose 70 and not 60. The final size will depend on the boot size, height and clearance for your radio assessories if you have any. Remember not all cars can take 70 liters.
The cylinder types will affect your total pricing. The lighter the cylinder type the more expensive it will be. The best is to go for Type 2 (semi-fiber). There are many importers and you will get a good deal. The type is also a lot lighter then a full-steel type.
The different in pricing between sequential and mixer is quite wide. you need to decide which to use. If money is not an issue go for EFI-sequential injection system.

What are You paying for?
You need to be very clear what are the things that will be provided by the conversion shop.
Firstly the NGV cylinder (ask what size).
Secondly, the conversion kit ( ask for Brand name and from which country they came from)
Thirdly, the lubrication Oil (Higher rating type to withstand the high temp)
Fourth the harness ie cables for supply of electric to your spark plug. ( Normally the harness need to be upgraded with a higher rating too).
Fifth, the spark plugs. It is advisable to change your spark plugs to a type suitable for NGV application. Get the model and where to buy if U want to change yourself.
Six, if they are kind they will also arrange to provide you with a bottle of radiator coolant for you to use. Remember using NGV will cause your car engine to be hotter then using petrol.
Hijau Complete Tool Audit on Diagnostic Scanners:
Hijau Tools Audit as at 5 January 2008

Diagnostic Computer Tools
This tool is pretty expensive but it is very important to check your vehicle's status before and after conversion. It actually provides you with an imprint of the condition of your vehicle. It acts as a medical tool that zoom-in where the problems really are.
If the shop have this tool, you should ask them to provide a copy of your car report. When you come in for tuning they will use the previous report to compare your car condition.
Some shops include this diagnostic test in the pricing while some charge them separately.
Hijau Warranty & Regular Service Booklet:
Each Hijau Customer is issued with a Warranty & Regular Service Booklet as Operating Manual
quote:
What about an Operating Manual?
Make sure you ask for the operating manual. This manual will advise you what to do and when to do. What are the possible problems and how to tackle them.
